Wednesday night's show at the recordBar -- Kansas City's date of the Babylon Tour -- showcased three up-and-coming EDM producers. The night was headlined by Ekali, a Canadian producer who is signed to Skrillex's record label and has been sampled on Drake records. The show wasn't sold out, but the turnout was very admirable for being smack-dab in the middle of a work week. Fans filtered in during the first set and got comfortable during the second, so by the time Ekali took the stage folks had shed their outermost layers of clothing and started to get down. Ekali spun his Denzel Curry collaborations and loads of original material as devoted fans up front bounced up and down for minutes on end. More casual dancers gleefully snaked their way through the venue, finding friends and getting acquainted with those around them.

Dallas, Texas musician Medasin hit the stage before Ekali for a set that included a mix of modern EDM, hip-hop, and house tracks. Preceding him was Kansas City native Judge, opening the hometown stop of his first national tour. Judge presented a similar amalgamation of hip-hop and electronic music and thanked the early crowd for its support. Judge has recently landed placements with Young Thug and Migos and released an EP of collaborative tracks with other producers.
