Chicago hardcore punk band CHEW ripped through a vicious set on Sunday night at Second Base. This house in Kansas City's Ivanhoe neighborhood hasn't been hosting shows for long -- this was its first all-punk lineup -- but the atmosphere there has already proven to draw a young crowd with a friendly energy.
Mentira played the night's last set; soundtracking the punks' hard dancing with primal grooves and aggression. New Kansas City punk band Anti-Seed opened the show. The group had played three shows on a Texas mini-tour, but this one was the first in Missouri.
