Issa Gold of The Underachievers
After Public Enemy's wildly strange and entertaining appearance on Saturday night came another interesting Lawrence rap show. Sunday night's legendary New York rap act to visit town was Cam'ron as a part of the annual Smoker's Club tour. The Harlem Dipset and Roc-A-Fella associate performed roughly twenty minutes of his hits before promising a new album and a return later this year. His set preceded that of enlightened Brooklyn duo The Underachievers who performed for half an hour at midnight after an extended wait before being kicked off the stage by the venue. Their set gave a similar energy to that of their friends in Flatbush Zombies in April.

Pro Era member Nyck Caution's performance was canceled the day of the show for unclear reasons, but he managed to hop on stage with The Underachievers momentarily. Chicago drill rapper G Herbo (f.k.a. Lil Herb) performed a solid set of mean and murky bangers despite much crowd attentiveness. Stoner rap vet Smoke DZA had similar luck with the audience but won points with the kids for entering the stage in a robe and hoisting an oversized wrestling belt over his head. Other appearances included nasal Dirty South rapper MobSquad Nard, Texan trailer park champion G Jet, YouthSoulLove, and Kansas City's Les Paul.
