Seeing a frail Willie Nelson and the surviving members of ZZ Top earlier this month, post-pandemic made me grateful for the opportunity to experience acts that have played an important role in shaping modern music. If you've never seen one or the other, I reckon you should catch Joan Jett and Cheap Trick tonight at Starlight. Other noteworthy gigs this week include a long-sold-out Waxahatchee show at Knuckleheads, indie scene vets Neko Case and AC Newman, a KCK patio show from Hadiza, and a loud rock gig at Penn Valley Skate Park.
