In case you've been living under a rock, pop-punk is back in vogue. Travis Barker is on every other mainstream emo-rap release and Avril Lavigne is hanging out with Willow Smith. And if your pop-punk education does reach back past the year 1999, allow me to assure you that all of your favorite pop-punk musicians love the hell out of the Descendents. The snot-nosed Los Angeles jokesters released an album consisting some of their earliest unreleased material last month called 9th & Walnut and they play Liberty Hall this Thursday. 

 

Other gigs worth catching include Soulfly (featuring Max Cavalera of Sepultura), a free acoustic gig from Rachel Cion, an outdoor, all-locals punk gig including Valta and D.Y.E., three days of house and other electronic music, two back-to-back days of touring reggae, and more.
