Crybabies, posers, and bad faith moralizers beware: this demo ain't for you. In six short minutes, P.S.Y.W.A.R. hammers out four tracks of militant hardcore punk and sets the bar for 2021 demos at an exceptional height. The band features members from both Kansas City and Denver favorites Devil's Den, Reality Complex, and Combat Force, so of course none of this is really a surprise. Though its Kansas City members Matthew Ryan and Max Chaney come from backgrounds of capital-H hardcore, there are no galloping two-step parts to be found here -- just straight-ahead, one-two-one-two bangers, meaning this demo could easily be enjoyed by pogo-and-slam punks here and across America whenever they do decide to hit the road. Ryan's vocals sound like those of a drill sergeant from hell and his band sounds like they're prepared to execute his commands posthaste. No dodging this draft.
