Two Washington, D.C. hardcore acts played in Kansas City at Uptown Theater's Encore room on Friday night. The show suffered some notable setbacks; the touring bands' van was broken into that morning and the venue pushed the show back as to not interrupt Tig Notaro's performance in the main theater. Give still performed a flowery set of post-hardcore that stayed true to its D.C. roots and Protester motored through a set of some of the meanest straight edge jams of 2017. Locals
Spine, Altered Beast, and
Youth Pool opened, the latter performing several new songs from some upcoming releases.
