Premiere: Rachel Cion - "Karma" Live

Named for the Shawnee house venue in which it was conceived, indie label Manor Records was formed in October 2017. Since then, they've released three tapes, but have several more releases on the way. Back in November, Manor teamed up with three singer-songwriters -- Mason Blaize, Chloe Jacobson, and Rachel Cion -- for a MOCSA benefit show at Blip Roasters. The show's audio was recorded by co-organizer Rachel Mallin, and today, ahead of a tape release, we have a preview of Rachel Cion's contributions.

Originally released on SoundCloud two years ago, Rachel Cion's "Karma" is a relatively quiet tune, but don't let that fool you. Cion's unrefined power in the live setting is one of the most exciting things a local singer-songwriter has unleashed on Kansas City in the last year. With only two performances down so far, whatever the third one is should not be missed.

Listen to "Karma" below. Tapes featuring live tracks from Rachel Cion, Mason Blaize, and Chloe Jacobson will be available to purchase at Mills Record Company, Love Garden, and online via Manor Records this Friday.
