Shuttlecock Music Magazine / Issue 1
After nearly six years of bringing you coverage of Kansas City's music scene on the web, the first issue of Shuttlecock Music Magazine's print edition is out now, free to pick up at locations across the metro. This issue features a cover story on Maal & Tom Richman, a pair of Kansas natives and Bear Club alumni who released their latest album, Grass, last month. The album is a refreshing, organic take on modern R&B, hip-hop, and pop and the perfect soundtrack to a post-COVID spring.
Other features in this month's issue include a Q&A with Lawrence singer-songwriter Window Seat, an essay marking the 10th anniversary of Dark Ages' Kansas City hardcore classic Can America Survive?, a scene report from Columbia, Missouri with Will Tuckley, an interview with Lauren Traczewski about her favorite band merch, our reading list feature Blogroll, and a few soda reviews.
