Kansas City R&B enigma and renaissance dude
Deaton Chris Anthony played his final local show of 2016 late on Friday night. The setting was a wild party full of skaters and friends at Fountain City Tattoo in celebration of the premiere of "Døg" -- a skate film by Dylan Burke. Anthony's set was much shorter and less intricate than his performances at
Sex + Ice Cream and the
Shuttlecock Showcase, but he still sang his heart out and incited lots of dancing as well as a group hug.
The Leisure Boys preceded Anthony and put on a fun, breezy set of garage rock perfect for a laid back Labor Day weekend.
