Paul Malinowski and Allen Epley of Shiner |
Kansas City's heaviest post-hardcore band Shiner came out of hiding on Friday night to play a show at the recordBar. The band is celebrating a reissue of their 1997 album "Lula Divinia" and played a powerful and lengthy set stretching across their discography with appearances from two different drummers. Supporting Shiner was Milemarker, a rigid and often robotic-sounding post-punk band from North Carolina. The show was opened by Kansas City's favorite inside joke, garage rock band Drop A Grand. Drop A Grand was joined by a slew of special guests including a washboard player, a scantily-clad dancing man, and a horn section.
