Blackstarkids are having quite the year. The Raytown hip-hop/pop/rock trio played their first two shows (just before the pandemic hit), released two albums, Surf and Whatever, Man, and signed a record deal with British indie label Dirty Hit (home of The 1975, Rina Sawayama, Beabadoobee, and others). TheBabeGabe, Deiondre, and TyFaizon called in for this week's podcast to talk about their whirlwind 2020. Besides the items listed above, we talked about their process for naming their albums and songs, some of their behind the scenes collaborators, the band's visual imagery and different "eras," and what lies ahead for the group.
