Dragged Into Sunlight
British extreme metal band Dragged Into Sunlight rained some real heavy blows upon The Riot Room's crowd last night. The band's strobe and candle-lit set overflowed with riff after devastating riff and an array of songs that could satisfy several different types of metal fans. Colorado doom outfit Primitive Man played the least amount of notes of any band Friday night, but had the highest amount of heads banging throughout their plodding, yet crushing performance. Self-proclaimed "progressive crust" group Cult Leader rose from the ashes of the band Gaza and has proved to be one of Utah's finest exports. The quartet unleashed blasts of grind and hardcore at breakneck speeds and delivered multiple dramatic and evil breakdowns. Local stoner rock duo Keef Mountain is preparing to release their debut LP this winter. Their groove-filled opening set was received with complete enthusiasm from an often less-than-excited crowd of metalheads.
