YG
Bay Area hip-hop heartthrob G-Eazy visited Bonner Springs, Kansas on Tuesday night in his second area show of the year. Eazy's dazzling live production and raps of wealth, women, and independence wooed thousands of young men and women who came to see him, but left many older hip-hop fans chuckling over his cheesy lines about fellatio and his bad boy/pretty boy demeanor. Logic -- also making his second appearance in the metro in 2016 -- put on a highly engaging performance involving lots of recent material, a beatmaking demonstration, and several personalized shoutouts to fans. Bompton rapper YG played nearly half an hour of radio hits and updated g-funk stylings including timely cut "Fuck Donald Trump" which he later performed again with G-Eazy adding a verse during his set. "Still Brazy" is one of 2016's best hip-hop albums and getting even an abbreviated chance to hear those songs live was a treat worth the price of admission. Memphis emcee Yo Gotti highlighted a handful of recent singles like "Law" and "Down In The DM" during his time on the stage. While witnessing the Dirty South vet was enjoyable for fans, Gotti most likely failed to convert any non-fans with his brief and static set.
