Several of the local cretins that make up Beta Boys and The Deacons will soon be moving to the Pacific Northwest, so the two bands hosted a free hometown show to celebrate their departure. The rowdy basement gig drew punks in from out of state, as well as unfamiliar Kansas Citians and Lawrencians who wanted to see the bands before they peace out. D-beat punk quintet AGENT and proto-punk sweethearts The Vitamens opened the show -- which doubled as a pool party.
