Studio 785 in Topeka, KS hosted its third annual block party on Saturday night. A host of Topekans grabbed the mic throughout this all-evening shindig that showcased what can be accomplished when a community of musicians comes together. The biggest highlight of the evening was the live debut of the mysterious rap group called
Young Mvchetes. The group had been releasing music since
February and finally emerged for a powerful performance, giving followers a first glimpse at their faces. Other acts Saturday night included P. Morris of Bear Club deejaying, R&B musician Weech, a crowd-pleasing rock set from Double Vision, a joint set -- and later an encore -- from
Dub Santana and Tione, and a lengthy closing set featuring several members of hip-hop collective The Ark.
