Refresh Map and Shoehouse pooled their resources on Sunday evening for Slaps & Slabs -- a BBQ cookout and free rap show at Swope Park. Over 100 people gathered around one of the park's several shelters -- only a stone's throw away from where Young The Giant was performing at Starlight Theatre -- to see friends and catch performances from some of Kansas City's best new hip-hop acts. Over 10 different rappers and singers played quick sets, but highlights included Dame and Kye Colors debuting upcoming singles, as well as City Watts and Riley also teaming up for a pair of collaborative tracks from "The Murder Tape." Other performers included MB58, Ron Mexico, Star B, Dutch Young and Domineko, Lighthouse Music, and Los & Turbo.
