SSION is the creation of multidisciplinary artist Cody Critcheloe. After growing up in Lewisport, Kentucky and recording his own punk music, Critcheloe moved to Kansas City to attend KCAI where his work began to draw more attention. He's made half a dozen albums of noisy, experimental, and unbelievably danceable pop music and is preparing his next for a spring 2022 release. In addition to directing his own music videos, he's worked with the likes of Santigold, Mykki Blanco, Yves Tumor, Robyn, Perfume Genius, and others. He also paints. Since moving to Los Angeles, Critcheloe has often returned home to film music videos and perform the occasional show. Consider this Friday's stacked gig at The Bottleneck a holiday treat just for you.
